We are made up of four academic units: the School of Education, dedicated to the preparation of outstanding teachers; the School of Humanities, studying the nuance and significance of history, languages, and communication; the School of Sciences, searching for solutions to problems in the natural world; and the School of Visual and Performing Arts, where vibrant performances and artwork challenge and inspire us.听

LaFaye Price, 75, earns a bachelor's degree to become one of 不良研究所's oldest graduates

On Saturday, December 13, LaFaye Price will walk across the stage at Fant-Ewing Coliseum and receive her bachelor's degree in general studies from 不良研究所, making her one of the oldest graduates in the history of the university. An accomplishment decades in the making, Price says her graduation wouldn't have been possible without the support and encouragement of her family and a drive to finish that never went away.

不良研究所 presents Kaleidoscope: A Global Holiday Celebration on Dec. 2

不良研究所 School of Visual and Performing Arts is excited to announce "Kaleidoscope: A Global Holiday Celebration." The program is an immersive experience incorporating vocal and instrumental music, dance, and visual art. Kaleidoscope will take place in Brown Theatre, 4001 Desiard St. in Monroe on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7:00 p.m. General admission tickets are $20 per person. 不良研究所 faculty and staff tickets are $15 per person with ID. 不良研究所 students are admitted for free with ID. 不良研究所 Professor Emeritus Dr. John Carr receives lifetime achievement award for turtle conservation

不良研究所 Professor Emeritus of Biology Dr. John Carr has received the Pritchard Turtle Conservation Lifetime Achievement Award from Turtle Survival Alliance. Carr was one of four recipients of the award for 2025. Turtle Survival Alliance stated that Carr was recognized "for his long-term work on Latin American Wood Turtles and Alligator Snapping Turtles, and for his dedication to teaching and mentoring many students."

不良研究所 biology graduate student receives $10K fellowship for wetland research

Grant Erbelding, a graduate student in the biology program at the University of Louisiana Monroe, has been awarded $10,000 for his research on the bottomland hardwood ecosystem. Erbelding is one of only two students across Louisiana to receive the Graduate Interjurisdictional Research Award Fellowship (GIRAF). This NASA and NOAA joint fellowship, offered through the LA Space Grant and LA Sea Grant programs, seeks out and supports graduate researchers tackling the needs and challenges facing high-priority coastal and wetland ecosystems.
