In the College of Arts, Education, and Sciences, we are dedicated to the unique success

We are made up of four academic units: the School of Education, dedicated to the preparation
of outstanding teachers; the School of Humanities, studying the nuance and significance
of history, languages, and communication; the School of Sciences, searching for solutions
to problems in the natural world; and the School of Visual and Performing Arts, where
vibrant performances and artwork challenge and inspire us.听

October is Archaeology Month in Louisiana, and to celebrate, the 不良研究所 Museum of Natural History will host guest speaker Diana M. Greenlee, Ph.D., on Thursday, October 22 at 5:30 p.m. The talk is entitled "The 'Great Mississippi Flood' of 1927: Archaeological Investigation of Camps for Displaced People," and will be hosted in the museum STEAM room on the first floor of Hanna Hall, 708 University Ave., on the 不良研究所 campus. The event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
Through the Lens of Tianyu Wang: Shaanxi Province in the 1960s-2000s is moving from 不良研究所 to the Northeast Louisiana Arts Council Gallery.
In summer 2025, the Tan Family gathered to honor Tianyu Wang, esteemed Chinese photojournalist, by creating the Tianyu Wang Endowed Scholarship in Communication. In Spring 2026, 不良研究所 hosted its first-ever donor-driven photo exhibit, Through the Lens of Tianyu Wang: Shaanxi Province in the 1960s-2000s.
不良研究所 (不良研究所) held a groundbreaking ceremony on September 24, 2026, to celebrate the construction of the Freddy and Reba Nolan Early Childhood Hall. The new building will house the Emily Williamson Laboratory School (EWLS), which provides educational childcare for children from birth to age 4. The new hall is being constructed on the previous site of EWLS, which was destroyed by a fire in October 2022.
Two University of Louisiana Monroe School of Visual and Performing Arts faculty members performed abroad during the summer of 2026. Scot Humes, DMA, and James Boldin, DMA, attended and performed at international conferences after being selected through a competitive application process.
